Diamonds EP marks the first extended play of the British electronic duo, Modestep, neither 3 years after their last extended play. It is the follow-up of Dawn EP, released on 2019.
On October 9, the duo took social media to tease new music, tagging their respective label, Disciple Records, with the simple caption:

The next day, the duo would announce the EP, alongside the tracklist respectively.
The extended play presents Modestep with a new sound respectively to what they produce, both melodic touches and more aggressive vocals together with the heavy sounds of Dubstep and Riddim, alongside the first time that the duo got one new collaborator in each song.
