Her Love Still Haunts Me Like a Ghost is a seven track EP that explores an alter ego of Montell Fish’s known as “ghostboi.”

Montell Fish stated that the EP is meant to be a transitional project between JAMIE and CHARLOTTE. All three projects loosely deal with the emotions felt during the grieving process, and as Montell shared with udiscovermusic, >JAMIE was centered around denial and isolation whereas CHARLOTTE is more about anger, so the new EP [Her Love Haunts Me Like a Ghost] is kind of a bridge between those emotions.

Montell announced the EP on October 13, 2022 through TikTok, saying that,

The project represents the second and third stages of grief (isolation, anger) after the loss of the lover ‘Jamie.’ It is also representory of a poem of the same name.

He also added on October 20 that:

The project is dark, toxic, ugly and beautiful at the same time. but its meant to fully show a character i created, and a transition after jamie before Charlotte.
